The 'Length of Cards' need better Customization options

I’m having trouble with the options in Write Settings for ‘length of cards’.
If I have it on the highest setting, the AI seems to think it needs to write forever, which doesn’t make sense to me as I often do a guided write and just want it to write the amount that matches the beat.
But whenever I select the -1500 words option, it cuts it off around 750-800 words, often cutting out before the beat is complete. I’m struggling to get it to work well, and find Novelcrafters to be better where you can tell it around the number of words to aim for, but it’s fine if it goes a bit over or under but it overall does a better job at writing the beat without going too far over or being cut off.

A prompt failed when I had it on the highest setting and I could see Gemini’s thought process; it said ‘(start the actual generation following these detailed steps, ensuring zero preamble, strictly matching the POV, and padding with heavy, relevant sensory detail to ensure length). Self-correction: 2000 words is quite long for just these beats, so I must stretch every action…..’

Now obviously that was a failed one which happens, but it gave me a better understanding of why I struggle so much with this feature; I never wanted it to write 2k words; I often just have to set it to that highest word setting so it doesn’t randomly cut off. When I put it on the option second to highest, using the same Gemini model, it cut itself off at 750 is words and only got through half of the beat even though the -1500 option was selected. I’ve tried shorter beats but still have the same issue, whereas with novelcrafter, I can customize it much easier to overall follow my instructions with the appropriate word output and never have to worry about it just… cutting off in the middle of things.

Could we have more customization on our end to be able to have control over the output length/how well it follows our prompted ‘continue writing’?
