Death Marker (Especially for Series)

Dead characters coming back to life has been a problem for me. Is there a way for a death marker or switch to be activated in the Characters section when a character dies? It might also be helpful to lock a character as always alive if their death is undesirable. I think this would be especially useful for series where there is a large cast by the end.
