dead character markers

I’m writing a trilogy and the AI keeps trying to resurrect characters from the previous book. It would be nice to have some way to mark a character as dead. Without having to copy a bunch of chapters from the previous book or even to mark on the characters description in the world building specifically which chapter they die in.
