Overview
The Sudowrite mobile app is an AI-powered writing assistant available for both iOS and Android devices. It serves as a companion app to the full web app at sudowrite.com, allowing you to take your work on the go, maintain momentum, and capture fresh ideas wherever you are.
What is Sudowrite?
Sudowrite is an AI writing partner designed to help authors achieve their writing goals. It functions as a junior writing assistant, editor, and creative companion. It can help you get unstuck and stay inspired, keep you organized and help you maintain momentum, and speed up your process (so you can focus on the parts of it you love).

All Projects and Documents sync automatically between the web and mobile apps
Important Note on Syncing
Projects and documents are stored in the same cloud on web and mobile and will sync automatically. If you create a new project on the web and don't see it immediately on mobile, wait 1-2 minutes for automatic sync.
Project Organization
Home Screen Layout
When you open the app, you'll see:
Projects: Items with a book/binding icon
Standard Folders: Labeled folder icons
Series Folders: Folders with series designation above their title
Navigation
Tap to open a project or folder
Swipe from left to navigate out of a project or folder
Long hold on a project to see options (move to folder, rename, duplicate, delete)
Creating New Items
Tap the + button in the upper right corner of the screen:
New Project: Create a fresh project
New Folder: Create a folder in your project list to organize your projects
New Dictation: Start a new Smart Dictation
Series Support
Sudowrite support special Series Folders on the web app that allow you to create a canonical timeline of projects and share certain Story Bible elements between projects. Series functionality is limited on the Mobile app.
Series folders will appear with a Series designation
You can write in Series projects
You can access the Series bible of shared Character and Worldbuilding elements
You cannot create new Series folders on mobile
You cannot change the canonical timeline or sequence of books for an existing Series
Full series management currently requires the web app
Deleting Items
Important: While you can delete both projects and documents, the mobile app does not have a trash can for projects presently.
Deleted documents go to the trash inside of a project and may be recovered from there
Deleted projects go to a trash that is unavailable on mobile
To recover deleted projects, log in to the web app
Access the project trash in your Settings Gear in the upper right

Meanwhile, AI functions such as Smart Dictate, Write and Rewrite will appear along the top of the screen (just to the left of the magnifying glass in the right corner).
