New AI Model: Grok 4 - In response to your requests, we’ve added xAI’s Grok 4 to Sudowrite. While reviews of its prose quality are mixed, Grok 4 apparently excels at logically demanding tasks such as outlines, timelines, consistency checks and more. Authors writing erotic or violent scenes will also appreciate Grok 4’s permissiveness. Try it now in Write, Draft, and Plugins.

Saved Prose Mode in Draft - We’ve also heard your feedback regarding AI model selection in the Draft tool, and have updated Draft so that your last selected Prose Mode or AI model will now persist when creating a new document. That means your Draft tool is no longer reset to the default Prose Mode every time you create a new document.

My Voice in Draft - My Voice is the new Sudowrite feature that allows you to create and write with a private AI model based on your existing work. We’ve expanded the open beta test so that your My Voice models are now available in the Draft tool as well, so that you can use them to generate full-chapter prose.

Tidy Import Naming - We updated the Import Novel flow so that projects now get a proper project name, rather than using the imported file’s name. That means less Magnum_opus_v22_final_final_FINAL, and more Magnum Opus.

⚠️ Heads up! Anthropic will end support for Claude 3.5 next week. When that happens, you’ll no longer be able to select Claude 3.5 as your AI model in your Write settings, Draft, or when creating a Plugin. If you were a frequent user of Claude 3.5, we’d recommend switching over to Claude 3.7, which not only uses approximately the same amount of credits, but is (in our humble opinion) even more excellent when it comes to prose quality.
