Updating Chapters

If, as I have recently done in Sudowrite, I request a rewrite of the chapter outlines from a specific chapter, is there a way to ensure that the AI understands this? It could be something I did wrong, but I requested a rewrite of the chapter structure from chapter 7 (that’s the one I just finished). It completed the request, but then seemed to disconnect chapter 8 onwards from the story. I want things to be a little more dynamic. As I write, my thoughts and ideas about how the story might develop change.
