Toaster mode

If I need to write and all I have is a smart toaster with a browser in it, I’d still like to view the page.

Perhaps a mode where animations, shadows, rounded corners, transparent windows, blurring, gradients, and other cpu expensive functions are turned off. If I click that button and the page turns into the Antonio Banderas website circa 1995, I’ll be happy so long as the writing features I actually care about work.
