It’s getting harder and more tedious to make the models listen. I now have over 2,000 words just focused on what the AI should and should not do, but it still isn’t enough, especially in terms of avoiding heterosexual content. If I want that, I tell the AI and don’t have a problem. If I want my characters to be straight and in the same room? Not gonna happen.
I’m not the only one who has noticed the models—Excellent, 3.7 direct, and Muse—all forcing characters to become homosexual when it generates sexual content. This is despite me instructing it in 5 different ways (3 different places) to not have characters of the same sex interact in that way.
Unfortunately, when it gets called out, other users start yelling “homophobia”. They wouldn’t like it if the AI forced all their gay characters to be straight.
Reinforce user instructions in the background prompting so the AI will stop changing our story elements. This is most noticeable in how things that supposedly read style don’t actually follow the style. (Looking at you Scenes.)
These forced sexual interactions and not listening to how a scene is laid out are making entire chapters of prose useless.
Another instance of the AI not listening to user instructions: I had my scenes explicitly state that the characters were in the shower. What did the AI immediately do? “Let’s get out of the shower.” I then reinforced with more instructions.
It took me stating in three different ways in just the scenes box that the characters were to stay in the shower before they did.
What happened next? The AI changed all of the positions I said the characters were in.
Using the LLMS directly (outside of Sudowrite) do not do this to the extent they do inside of Sudowrite so it is something in the prompting or lack thereof.
