Series Saga Support - Per-Book Character Roles and Master Bible Functionality

Subject: Series Saga Support - Character Versions, Per-Book Roles, and Master Bible

I'm writing a 50-book series saga following 20 core characters over 10 years, organized into 10 interconnected sub-series with overlapping timelines. The current Story Bible system has critical limitations for this use case:

Core Issues:

  1. Character roles are global, not per-book. I cannot designate Jett as MMC in his book and supporting character in Owen's book without manually toggling tags every time I switch projects. With 20 characters appearing across 50 books in varying prominence, this is unworkable.

  2. No character versioning for aging arcs. My characters age significantly (Rowen appears at 16 in the lead magnet, is 24 in his own series). Currently I must overwrite character descriptions to reflect current age/appearance/circumstances, which destroys my ability to reference younger versions for flashbacks or continuity checks. Yes I can put some stuff in the backstory but not as detailed as having Sudo able to remember certain things that would be beneficial to character development and arc. I maintain separate documents per age that I manually swap in, but this is error-prone and Sudowrite cannot see the full character history.

  3. No master saga bible. I maintain comprehensive worldbuilding (restaurants, schools, businesses, sports teams, character relationships) that spans all books. Currently I must recreate or re-link this for each new series, even though the content is shared.

  4. Book numbering chaos. Series order doesn't accommodate parallel timelines or lead magnets that predate the "official" series start but share continuity.

Requested Features:

  • Per-book character role assignment (MMC, FMC, supporting, etc.) that persists per project

  • Character versioning/branching: ability to maintain multiple ages/states of the same character and tag which version appears in which book

  • A "master bible" layer that feeds into all books in a series folder without duplication

  • Flexible series ordering that accommodates parallel timelines and prequel lead magnets

Context: I've been developing this world since 2013. Sudowrite has dramatically accelerated my output (from one book every 2-3 years to 6 per year), but the Story Bible friction is becoming the bottleneck. This isn't an edge case, it's a legitimate series saga structure that many long-form writers use.
