Many authors write and collaborate under pen names. Right now, when sharing chapters for collaboration, Sudowrite automatically uses the account’s real/legal name. This can be a problem for authors who:
Publish under a pen name and want collaborators to see that identity.
Manage multiple writing personas (e.g. genre fiction vs. professional nonfiction).
Need to keep their legal name private for safety or brand reasons.
Suggestion: Add a project-level toggle where the author can select whether collaboration is shared under their real name (default) or a chosen pen name. Ideally, this could be set when creating the project and easily switched later, similar to choosing a display name. This would also allow authors with multiple pen names to use Sudowrite for all of them without confusion, since each project could display the correct identity.
Benefits:
Protects author privacy.
Matches how writers actually work across different projects.
Keeps collaboration immersive (e.g., collaborators on a novel see the author’s pen name, not their unrelated legal identity).
This would make Sudowrite much more author-friendly for the large number of us who publish under pseudonyms.
