I find the colour schems for the UI mostly unhelpful in maintaining a space for writing. They don’t make a lot of senses aesthetically either. I’d suggest to focus on properly crafting a light mode and dark mode first. At the moment, neither is easy on the eyes.
I’ve been using Sudowrite via Safari and Firefox on macOS Tahoe, and I’ve expereinced what seem to be loading or reloading issues. Sometimes the chat stops working or even crashes the tab. The overall web experience isn’t bug-free and that’s not helpful.
It seems Sudowrite is trying to do a lot via webpages—so much so that I wish there were a dedicated local app on desktop. The UI isn’t responsive, the colour schemes are not super, and the stability is sometimes in question. Maybe local apps are the better way?
On top of the UI, there are also some quality issues:
The re-write functions sometimes deliver very wrong answers. It seems Goliath isn’t particularly good with the simple instructions to respect the facts as stated in the story, and that they tend to make its own interpretations dispite given explicit instructions.
Some of the ‘plug-in’s just don’t deliver. If Sudowrite is going to profit from them, Sudowrite is responsible for QC-ing them.
The built-in ‘Feedback’ plug-in often delivers results that get cut off.
The most serious issue is that there is no re-fund channel when any of the above happens.
