Hi! Minor suggestion, but I’d love a pfp for each of my characters and then possibly a photo library (of the two, pfp would be prio). I use quite a few other apps to help me organize my novels. I tend to work mostly in Sudowrite and then add my updated materials to these other apps. I use a combo of Fortelling and Campfire. Both of these apps offer image uploads for characters as well as image uploads for locations and other worldbuilding features. That’s my main reason for using them (of the two, Fortelling’s UI is more user friendly, Campfire is clunky and has a lot of bugs) as well as the ability to collab with other users (which is another feature I’ve suggested below). AI doesn’t need to use the pfp image at all (such as in describing a character based on an image), it would simply be a 1:1 box on the upper left corner of the character’s card. Would be nice to see that pfp when their accordions are collapsed as well.
Another character card suggestion: the ability to remove ‘Groups’. I understand what they’re for but never use them. Also, when I joined Sudowrite it took me quite a bit of hunting to track down an explanation for what the purpose of ‘Groups’ for characters is. I had absolutely no idea. UX wise, I’d suggest adding an ‘i’ icon after the ‘Groups’ title, with a little tooltip upon hover that gives a bit more context. I think a lot of features on this app could use more tooltips to give the new user a better experience (not bashing ya’ll, I absolutely love this app and all the updates. Kudos to the team and all their hard work👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! But wanted to bring this up in case no one else had 😊).
There’s also a strange interface issue (not a bug) on desktop and mobile app. On Storybible cards, if there’s an input field that’s filled and I want to highlight a particular sentence, because the ‘Rewrite’ and ‘Use’ buttons on the top right of the input fields pop up after I’ve clicked into the input box, the text has a pretty jarring shift. So if I’ve hovered over the start of a sentence I want to highlight or edit, when I click into the box, my cursor ends up on a completely different section of text. Lately it’s been a bit troublesome. My suggestion would be to either have those buttons fixed so they show regardless if you’ve clicked into the box or not (possibly have them disabled if the input field is not clicked on), or have the buttons above the input fields.
Collaboration - all the novels I currently have in Sudowrite are cowritten by myself and my writing buddy. I’d love if there was a collaboration feature where I could send her a link/email invite to collab.
Alright I’m done blabbering on 😆 Love ya’ll, can’t recommend you enough! Thanks for all you do!
