Improvements & Fixes

The team has been hard at work fixing bugs and making lots of performance improvements. Here’s a look at what’s new.

Improved Rewrite - Using Rewrite on shorter passages could sometimes produce subpar results for lack of broader story context. We’ve made the Story Bible’s Synopsis available to shorter Rewrites when Story Bible is enabled. We also added “Looked at” context, which appears above the Rewrite card in your History section when the AI uses it.

Improved Right Bar - We refreshed the right bar to help make your History and Chat more visually distinct. You can now access your Starred History cards via the filter option in the upper right, and prior Chats via the Chat History icon (instead of a folder).

Improved Typing Speed - Certain Story Bible fields (Braindump, Genre, Style, and Synopsis) were laggy to type in. We made them more responsive and consistent with other fields.

Improved Insert Formatting - Using a History card’s Insert button could place the text in your document with extra undesired line breaks. We’ve resolved that issue.

Improved Document Saving - We dramatically increased the document saving frequency, and made sure that both significant changes and leaving the active document also trigger fresh saves.

Historical Document Favorites - You can now “favorite” an old version of a document that appears in your History. Click the star in the upper right-hand corner of a prior version, and that timestamp will be starred in the History’s left bar. (This feature is currently only available for documents.)

Import Novel Stability - We made some improvements to Import Novel which should prevent it from ever getting stuck during the Outline extraction step. It works much more reliably now.

More Tools Menu Fix - We fixed an issue where the More Tools menu was obscured if you expanded it while using the First Draft feature.

Toolbar Visibility Fix - We fixed an issue that was causing the top toolbar to appear too high on the page and be cut off by the browser.

GPT-5 Blank Write Cards - We fixed an issue that was causing GPT-5 to occasionally generate blank cards when used in the Write button.

POV and Tense Messaging - We clarified the messaging that appears before generating prose with the Draft tool when you have not set a desired POV or Tense.

Plugin Document Scrolling - Using a plugin that opened its own text input field was scrolling a document up to the very top. We fixed that issue and now persist your scroll location.
